Inspired by the word ‘aestiva’, which means the ‘light of summer’, this tee is the perfect warm-weather knit. Light fingering weight wool / linen blended yarn creates a fabric that is soft and airy perfect on its own for warm days or layered underneath your favourite shirt, cardigan or jumper for those cooler days.

YARN WEIGHT: Light Fingering

NEEDLE SIZE: 3.5mm / 4 US

GAUGE: 26 sts x 30 rows

This construction is so unique, I haven’t seen anything like it. Every detail was meticulously chosen and integrated to make a final product that feels effortless. And, again, can’t say enough about the neckline!! Frames my neck and upper chest SO nicely.

I love the fit! ...it genuinely fits so comfortably. I don't have to adjust the tee at all as it's being worn, and it is really comfy at the underarms (not tight, and not baggy). The v-neck is also PERFECTLY shaped - it isn't so wide that I have to constantly adjust my bra strap to stay hidden, and the depth of the v-neck is flattering!

Love the finished garment, lots and lots of round and round knitting once you get to the body. Don't over think the yoke....top down raglan with a saddle inset.

~ Denise (test knitter)

Due to the construction, it was pretty varied but not too complicated. Definitely like the finished garment. It hit two knitting goals for me, knitting a different construction with fit in mind and knitting a summer knitting pattern :)

~ Andrea (test knitter)

Soooo fun! Body with light yarn was enjoyable 'tv knitting' while the raglan/saddle was new and exciting construction!

    construction

The Aestiva Tee is a modified saddle shoulder / raglan hybrid that is knit flat from the centre back outwards to the shoulders. The yoke is also worked flat on all sides of the oversized saddle with neckline and raglan-style shaping. Both the body and the sleeves are worked in the round and the tee is finished with i-cord trims.

Pattern includes optional bust darts, Shaping Map and step-by-step guidance to set-up the unique construction, progress charts for each size, and both blocking and finished garment schematics.
